The origins of RouteLabs TN can be traced back to the summer of 2020; back then co-owner Trevor Mangrum was a student at the University of Tennessee, living in his hometown of Selmer, TN during the COVID lockdown. Trevor decided to spend that lockdown building websites for local businesses. In that time, he helped five businesses build their online presence.
When he returned to Knoxville in the spring of 2021, he continued to work on websites in his home town, and he also contributed to the works of Hack4Impact UTK, a non-profit organization at the University that built websites for non-profits in Knoxville. After graduation in 2023, Trevor continued to maintain the websites he had made, but stopped taking on new projects.
In the summer of 2026, Trevor's friend, Ray Ferrer, came to him with a project. A newly-founded home renovation company in Ray's town of Cumberland Gap, TN was looking to have their website redesigned. Together, he and Ray developed the website for D&C Visions, LLC, working with the owners to add the design and features they wanted.
After the development of D&C Visions, Ray and Trevor partnered together to helping small businesses find their presence online.
